Description
Yes- I really did make this.
I'm spending the summer in the south of France, and I'm staying with a family who owns a Bijouterie (Jewelry Store for all you non-French-speakers) and I'm spending some of my time working there. I'm now doing pieces for customers, but they first gave me the opportunity to sketch a piece I'd like for myself.
One of the things that I doodled was a very elaborate vine-covered Hallows symbol. They were skeptical, but they said if I could sculpt it, I could have it.
I then cut it from a piece of green wax (oh, all the times I broke the wax AND my saw blade...) to create a mold.
Once that was done, Ludo (he owns the store) was able to make a mold and cast the general shape in silver. It was then my job to smooth it, sand it, file it, polish it, with a bit of help when I got intimidated by the fire gun and the polishing machine. I didn't want to break anything.
Anyway, it was finally finished today, and here it is!
